Originally founded by John Papas as a coffee stand in the old Metropolitan Elevated station on Kedzie south of the Square, in the heart of Logan Square, this restaurant grew to be a local institution with thousands of people saying they would meet up "at the Terminal". When Logan Square was the end of the line this restaurant also offered a convenient place to have dinner before a show by a famous performer like Jimmy Durante or Benny Goodman at the nearby Masonic Temple, Logan Square Auditorium or Cedric Hall.
